The plugin for Construct 2

Current version: 1.00 (24.02.2016)

Download from: DropBox

To install the plugin, simply export its folder to your Construct 2 plugins directory.

(e.g. C:\Program Files\Construct 2\exporters\html5\plugins\tincan)

1. Usage

In your project, simply add the Tin Can plugin from the Insert New Object dialogue (Tin Can is at the top, under « Data & Storage » plugins).

This first version of the plugin only provides very basic functionality: the ability to connect to a LRS and to post a statement. Further functions may be added at a later stage.

To get working, all you need to do is connect to the LRS, specifying an endpoint, user and password for the LRS, and then start posting statements about the learners once you’re connected.

2. Plugin actions, conditions and expressions

a) Actions

Statement format:

b) Conditions

After creating a new statement with the « Make Statement » Action, use the « On Statement » trigger in your programme to know whether the statement save worked or failed (test expressions TinErr and TinCode).

c) Expressions

You need to test that both TinErr and TinCode are at zero after a statement to ensure it was saved correctly.
